  • To cause the audience to believe the speaker's proposition through ethical, logical, and emotional appeals

What does speech to convince mean?

  • It is the speech that ask the audience to adopt a mental attitude of agreement with the speaker's ideas.

  • While a speech to convince does not ask the audience to perform a specific action, acceptance of the speaker's positions may lead the audience to further actions which takes place at some point in the future. In a convincing speech, however, that was not speaker's intent.

  • Speech to Convince attempt to modify, change, or reinforce audience beliefs, values, or attitudes by using effective data.

What does speech to actuate mean?

  • Speech to Actuate motivates the audience to perform a specific action related to the solution. The speaker's intent here is to move the audience to DO something.
